2. Dupattas

are the other two sartorial choices that Bengali women wear apart from a saree. These Salwars and Kurtas are often paired with elegantly prepared and beautifully designed Dupattas and stoles that are available in various colours and fabrics. 3. Panjabi Kurta and Dhoti

Just like saree is considered a symbol of traditional Bengali dress for women, Panjabi and Dhoti is the top choice of men when it comes to the traditional dress of Bengal for men.

Panjabi is a similar counterpart to kurta, of north-Indian attire. It is often with a dhoti. These Punjabi’s overall length depends upon that choice of a person. You can either have them short or as long as up to your knees.

The one difference that sets Punjabi apart from your usual kurta is the authentic fabric and the design that can only be found in Bengal.

A Punjabi is often paired with jeans and trousers these days, and it makes for an ideal blend of both modern and traditional attire.
